Honoring the Life of Thomas Peter Nichols

It is with great sadness that the Nichols family announces the passing of our dear Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Great-Uncle, Godfather and loving Friend Thomas Peter Nichols, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, on March 13, 2022.

Tom was born in Regina, SK to Stanley and Marguerite Nichols on August 8, 1962. He loved playing basketball and any other sport that came his way. He attended Holy Rosary and graduated from Leboldus High School in Regina. After graduation he worked in construction for several years before moving on to build his successful accounting business, TNT Consulting.

A friend to all, Tom was a great listener and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He loved travelling to any warm destination that allowed him to soak up the warmth of the sun. His twinkling blue eyes lit up every room he entered and hinted to his mischievous side.

Tom was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Marguerite Nichols. He is survived by his brothers Wane, Richard (Darlene), James (Shari), Stephen (Rachel), David (Marci) and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, Godchildren and cousins.

The day your heart stopped, our hearts were broken. May our memories of you give us strength in the weeks to come.

Funeral Mass in celebration of our loving brother Tom will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2104 Garnet Street, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan Inc. (www.scisask.ca).

I am so sad to hear about Tom's passing. My condolences and prayers to all the family. Tom was my accountant and my family's accountant for decades. One of the most upbeat, friendly, kind persons I have yet to know. He was more than my accountant, I called him a friend. Too many wonderful people seem to leave us way to soon. Tom is one of those. Thomas. My friend and younger brother. Justified by time spent at my home. Your mark on so many is obvious and ubiquitous. Thomas you are and always have been one of the most Alive, bright, intuitive, and humble influence's on all that was who were blessed to know you. The happiness and fun and great insights that came so naturally and easily to you will always be with your brothers and family and friends will be passed on to our children. Your impact on so many can’t be measured. To say that you’ll be missed is not even close to your impact on so many. We all love you and could use a visit from time to time. To your brothers and Mom and Dad. I know how hard this is on you all. But take all the great memories and do your best. Thomas will help you get through this. God Bless. Our deepest condolences. Bud & Dixie Goetz and family.

My love and condolences to the Nichols brothers and their families. I am so sad to hear of Tom's passing. I have such fond memories from my youth playing floor hockey on Charlie's Raiders and hanging with all of you. Hugs to everyone and raising my glass in a toast to Tom. ❤

Our deepest condolences on your loss. We have all good memories of Tom whether it was watching garage Rider games or sharing conversation over food & drinks. He was one of a kind and will be truly missed.

Tom was my godfather who I called my uncle. My dads best friend. I have so many memories with Tom I will cherish forever. Cruising around in the big brown van with him and dad promoting the ball tournaments, running around the old cathedral house and finding a new “hidden room” everytime we were there. Teaching us how to use “paint” on the computer when computers were the newest technology. Letting me push the dunk tank button on dad at the ball tournaments. He was always so funny and never missed an opportunity to poke fun of my dad. I am so blessed to have had such a genuine soul be a role model in my life. I will think of you everytime I drive down lewvan and see your house up on the street. Rest In peace Uncle Tom, you are so loved.

May your loving memories give you the strength to carry through this difficult time. Our sincere condolences. Hank Reis and family.

Steve Rachel and all the Nichols families - Morley and I truly loved Tom, he was funny, smart, charming, and quit the joker with that mischievous smile. Just a pleasure to be with. We had many outings with Tom, lunches, suppers, casino trips, shopping for plants, garage rider games back yard bon fires. Such a kind gentle soul Tom was. Tom will be deeply missed by many. Sending our Deepest Condolences. Gone buy not forgotten. Shirley and Moe

He was a force to be reckoned with both academically and athletically. But more so, he was a really nice guy and I know he will be sorely missed.

To the Nichols family: We were saddened to learn of Tom’s passing. May your memories of him help to soothe your souls

A true friend. I will always remember our time spent at the beach playing lawn darts, water skiing, sitting around the late night fires etc…We go back a long ways, our trips, like the train ride to Vancouver for the Grey Cup as well as many other adventures. From our crib tournaments to your ball tournaments. When we sometimes became mischievous we always had each others backs. Our family has always considered the Nichols family like one of our own. Heck the kids only knew you as Uncle Tom. Your family has always been a tremendous support and me Sandy have been very blessed to be a part of your family for so many years. May you Rest In Peace…until we meet again my brother.

My deepest sympathies to the Nichols family on the loss of a true gem. I will always remember Tom as a guy with a mischievous laugh and a sparkle in his eye. The thought of his resilience inspires me to this day. May he rest in peace.

To the whole Nichols crew: we hurt along with you. Tom was one of the most rare and irreplaceable humans. We will remember him with love and laughter, and will always be grateful for the privilege of calling him our friend. We love you all.

Our deepest condolences to the family. We were sad to hear of Tom’s passing. I have many great memories over the years from starting school to becoming adults. There were so many laughs and crazy things that we shared. Tom was one of those guys that excelled at everything he did, seemingly without trying. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Sharing in your sadness as we all remember Tom. His smile would brightened up your day and those beautiful caring eyes would look at you with such kindness. We would like the family to know that we care about you and share in your sadness! Love to all! Arlene, Brent and family

Such a kind soul and great friend. Tom use to do our softball teams’ stats back in the 90’s. He attended every game to do so, had every players’ batting avg, stolen bases, errors, pitching stats, the whole deal. He made us all feel like the pros, and everyone loved looking through them after every game at Western Pizza on Broadway.

All my sympathy for the loss of Tom, a life well-lived yet a life too short.

I’m saddened by the passing of my sweet cousin Tom. My thoughts & prayers go out to all his brothers. When we were small we used to play all together. I loved Tom from the bottom of my heart and all the Nichols brothers. Rest In Peace!!! You will be missed by all who knew you.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Growing up, my best friend Lisa's uncle would sometimes watch us, or just be around. He was cool and funny and kind. As a kid you know who the safe ones are, and this guy was it. And, his eyes. He not only had these piercing eyes, but they also had a sparkle that left a lasting impression. I would catch myself staring at him long after he finished speaking wondering if there was more to what he said... My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

My deepest and sincere condolences to the Nichols family. I have fond memories growing up near each other in the Cathedral area. The passing of Thomas is a huge loss to everyone. Best wishes Alf Zumpano

I am so very sorry for your loss..Tom was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by many xox

Tom Nichols - such a legacy on how to move forward when he / we are faced with adversity. So much to take in! A true friend. Hard to be jealous of a man confined to a wheelchair but thru Tom’s strength and perseverance, and unwavering support of his family, one can only admire a life well lived. Tom was a lucky man. His brothers and their significant others surrounded him with love and inclusion. They should all take solace in the unconditional love provided! Tom taught so much about life without trying or intending same. Gifted athlete but better person. Great actor which is: was highlighted in the 1970 ‘s classic “4 card draw “ movie by holy rosary alumni - Ted Maria. (u tube lol) not many of us are fortunate enough to have someone like Tom in their lives. To feel such sadness and angst is an honour or what was the point of living. He touched so many and that is the true measure of a life well lived. Rip my friend - thx for the memories and making me try to be a better man. Tall standard and legacy to adhere to xo

So sorry for your loss. Always enjoyed visiting with Tom. The twinkle in his eyes and that smile! He will be missed by so many!

My heartfelt sympathies to the Nichol's family, so sorry for your loss.

Thomas had the smarts, the athletic talent, the charisma and the general presence that the rest of his buddies only wished we had! Those blue eyes could melt ice .. And they did! ... From our math teacher's bewilderment that Thomas could pull off 100's as naturally as the rest of us couldn't, to his commanding presence wherever fun was being had, he will be greatly missed....

So many fond memories of Tom’s smiling face and quiet laugh around the ball diamonds. My deepest condolences to the entire Nichols family❤️❤️❤️

Thomas led a heroic life. I was only able to see him once a year when coming through Regina these past 30 years but we tried to talk as often as possible in between.
