It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Edna Doris Schultz on February 18, 2022 at the age of 91.
Edna was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1930. She worked for many years for the Federal Government. She enjoyed spending her summers at the cabin in Buena Vista, Saskatchewan and her winters as a snowbird in Sarasota, Florida. She loved being busy with her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Edna spent many memorable years at Renaissance Retirement Home and spent her last year being well cared for at Majestic Manor in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Edna was predeceased by her parents Reg and Vera Hudson; husband Robert Schultz; her brothers Herbert and Clifford; daughter Sandra; son Bob; and son-in-law Brian. She is survived by her sister Shirley (Bill); daughters Susan, Bonnie (Mark) and Brenda (Tony); son Steven (Marina); and daughter-in-law Gale.
As per Edna’s wishes no funeral service will be held. A private memorial will be held later this summer.
Messages:
My deep condolences to Edna's family and friends as they mourn the loss of such a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. I worked with Edna at the federal government. Our desks were literally within shouting distance. Edna always made me laugh in spite of myself. I have so many positive (and humourous) memories of spending time with her. She called a spade a spade and made no apologies. She didn't mince words and didn't take herself too seriously. She helped me to not take myself too seriously too. I loved her to bits!! Time with Edna was always time well spent!! Heaven has got to be a better place with Edna there to keep it real!! She was one of a kind and I feel truly blessed to have known her. Farewell my friend, and thank you for the joy you gave to me and to so many others. God bless you always.
So sorry for you loss, Susan...............May God Bless you and your Family. Wes and Linda Shoobert, Regina...................Take care..............thoughts and prayers are with you.......................
Dear Susan, Bonnie, Steven and families - My deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. We became friends when I was working for Human Resources Development Canada. It was at that time, I got to know each of you. For many years Edna and I were coffee buddies. She had certainly lead a full life. I know that each of you have many fond memories. May love, time and memories soften your loss. Norine Gamble
Very sincere condolences to Edna’s family from all of us She was a very great lady
My sympathy to Edna's family. We only met Edna a month ago when Jeanne moved into Majesty Manor. We shared some cups of tea together. She talked about her church, and faith, her home in Florida and that she would be leaving for that home at the end of the month. Now she has gone to her heavenly home. May she rest in peace.
I worked with Edna many years ago at the Canada Employment Centre. I also worked with Susan, Bonnie and Sherry. I used to get annual phone calls at work from Edna. I sure miss them. Your mom and Grandma was such a great person. May she rest in peace. Condolences to you all and your families.
