Joseph (Joe) Simic
April 1st, 2022
Friday, April 01, 2022, Joseph (Joe) Šimić, late of Regina, SK, beloved uncle to Emily and Jake (Jakov), passed away at the age of 57. Joseph was born May 21, 1964, the middle of three sons to Marija and Jakov, who both emigrated from Lika, Croatia in 1958. Joe bore his cross of chronic ABI’s and worsening neurological maladies for over 15 years, ultimately succumbing to the ravages of a major seizure’s effects. Joe was a self-taught, fabulously gifted guitarist who excelled at playing a dizzying array of styles, all to note-for-note precision and perfect tone. He cut his teeth with the family Concrete and Construction business, and obtained his Journeyman status with an A+ grade on his test challenge. “What he sees with his eyes, he can do with his hands” our parents always said. He was predeceased by our father and mother (1993 and 2007), and brother Branimir (Brian) in 2020. He is survived by his brother John (Darlene) and their children Emily and Jake (Jakov). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 08, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 100 Argyle St. N., Regina, SK with Fr. Ferdinand Eusebio Celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Special thanks to Our Lord God for Joe’s acceptance of the Sacrament of Extreme Unction, to Jorden Metz especially, and Dean Pelzer also, while at the ABI program at Pearl Manor, and the countless medical heroes who tended to Joseph at RGH and Pasqua Hospital during his final month. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family’s online obituary at: www.MyAlternatives.ca
Please pray the Rosary, a chaplet of Divine Mercy, or sponsor a Repose of Soul Mass on Joseph’s behalf, that any purgatory time may be minimized.

I'm sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I lived in the same apartment building as Joe for a number of years on 14th Avenue. He was always kind and talkative. Although I haven't lived in the same building for a few years now, I would still run into Joe downtown and we'd catch up. My condolences to the family.
