George Trithart
February 13th, 2022
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Trithart 2 days short of his 99th birthday with his family by his side. George passed peacefully from this world on February 13, 2022.
George was born in Gravelbourg, SK on February 15, 1923 and moved later with his family to Broadview, SK. Here he grew up on the farm where he learned the value of hard work and honesty. He received a letter in the mail to enlist and he took the bus to Regina, SK where he enlisted in the army on Aug 12, 1943. He was sent overseas in January 1945 where he served as an interpreter until August 1946. After getting out of the service George returned to the family farm at Broadview and farmed with his brother, Jack, until he retired. George was a confirmed bachelor until the age of 60 when he married his true love, Pearl, in 1983. They got to enjoy 32 years of happy marriage, traveling, visiting people and places, going to casinos and just driving the country side.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Pearl, his parents John and Marjorie Trithart, his brother Jack and sister Margaret.
George will always be lovingly remembered by his family Elaine (Dave) Laire, David (Roxanne) Laire and family, Monique (Todd) Hodder and family.
A special thank you to Broadview Centennial Lodge staff for the great care George received while he was a resident there. Also a huge thank you to Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Veterans ward staff, all staff from housekeeping to the Doctors for the wonderful care George received there. He was truly treated like family. Also "Thank you" to the wonderful people that volunteered their time to the Veterans unit at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Without your time, your smiles and your laughter, a lot of extra activities could not be done, for example "Happy Hour."
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK (to view the service online, watch facebook livestream at Grace Lutheran Church, Regina, SK). A short Graveside Service and interment will be held same day at 3:00 p.m. in Broadview Cemetery, Broadview, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Veterans recreational department, Regina, SK.
