Messages:

Sincere condolences to the family of Fred Warren. He quickly became part of our Museum and Thresher's family where volunteers and staff worked and socialized for many years. New and old stories, shared knowledge of just how things worked, good food, laughter and comradry will be part of great memories of Fred. Thanks for all the good memories.

My condolences to the family and to ALL who knew Fred and I KNOW that was a lot of people because one of the many things I can say about Fred is he was a people person. Quick with a smile for all those he met. Quick witted and sharper then any tack. Wise of the ways of the world and had lived so many lives I often wondered how he got it al in! Fred would pop in at our place outside of Balcarres often on his way back from meetings in Yorkton. His arrival time often coincided with tea time. Luckily for my family tea time often washed over into supper time and beyond! Fred would share stories from years gone by or from just that week! The reason he could do so is cause he never stopped experiencing new adventures every chance he got. My son Jacob and daughter Lilly loved listening to his stories and they knew Fred was bigger then life itself! I used to tell Fred he needed to write a book about all his adventures and he would say he didn't have time for such things because he was to busy...And he was! One of my greatest memories of Fred happened about 20 years ago. Fred had been to the Motherwell where i worked for Threshing a few times and we had gotten to know each other quite well. It was the end of a regular day about 4:45 pm and I was to be done work at 5pm. I was attempting to drag a round straw bale into the loft for bedding and in my haste to get things done quickly I cut the corner to short and ran the bale into the corner post at the base of the ramp and the bale just exploded everywhere. After a brief discussion with myself all I could think is this is gonna take forever to clean up when I heard someone say " Looks like you got quite a mess there". I looked up and coming around the edge of the barn was Fred smiling ear to ear cause he knew exactly what had happened. Then he said " I'll grab us some forks." I hitched to the Hay wagon and the two of us had that bale picked up in 15 Minutes. By 5:15 we were unharnessed and locking up. That was Fred! Always willing to lend a hand, to drive anyone who needed it to where ever they needed, to volunteer to not just do a little but to do a lot. He is a prime example of goodness/kindness and strength that I will for ever be striving for in my life. I love you Fred. My family loves you and any one and everyone who got the chance to meet you and see that smile and hear that laugh loves you too. Thank you for all you did for me and my family. Rest easy Fred you will live forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew you.

For many years we’ve had the pleasure of knowing Fred not only as a valued volunteer, but also as a great friend. His energy was remarkable and even during periods of health challenges over the years he was still committed to lending a hand wherever he could. He was a dedicated member of the Threshermen’s Club who took an active role in sharing his knowledge with younger members and getting them involved. Fred was always ready with a story or little anecdote and had a way of looking at things with balance and optimism. We will miss our friendly visits and sharing a laugh or two, which was always easy with Fred around. To his family and friends we express our deepest sympathies and share in the memories of an extraordinary gentleman.

To all of Fred's many family we extend our sympathies. Fred Warren was a man of many talents and all of us from the Fort Qu'Appelle Natural History Society will remember him with great affection. Fred regaled us with many stories of birding, highway projects, ham radio experiences, historical tractors, all of which were great to hear. We wonder if any "Geolog Tour " signs are still in his garage? Fred had a great laugh, an amazing smile and was a warm soul. It has been a pleasure to know him. Wendy Paquin & Keith Stephens

Our hearts were broken when Fred past away. He was a wonderful person. He was kind and friendly with everyone. Our lives won’t be the same without him. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Rest In Peace Fred, we love you ♥️
