Debra Verna Cooper
January 4th, 2023
Deb Cooper was born Debra Verna Dubinski in Kamsack, Saskatchewan on October 6, 1938. She loved summers at Madge Lake, Saskatchewan during her teens before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan in the mid-1950s, first working as a telephone operator. She was a natural athlete and an exceptional curler. Deb married Edward Cooper (d.2010) in 1962 and raised two children. She enriched others with her love of music (especially jazz) and interest in history and politics. She managed a farm and volunteered for multiple causes. Deb was enthusiastic in her pursuit of DIY projects, confident as a local softball umpire and steadfast as a Blue Jays fan. She loved her garden and with fir trees created a beautiful oasis which she enjoyed until her life’s end at 84 years. Deb is survived by her children Curtis and Susan, and grandchildren Brittany, Calvin, and Portia Cooper. Upon request, no service will be held.
Messages:
Selo Gardens PCH would like to send our Condolences to the family at the passing of Debra. Although she was only with our Selo family for a short time we were able to see the Spunk in Debra each day. Her love for music, coke, McDonalds Big Mac and fries, listening to the news and always wanting to know what was happening outside, her smile and to tell us her wants and needs. We had many fun laughs, smiles and chats and she showed us her Spicy side, thank you for letting us be a part of her life for a short time. We hope she is dancing and singing with the Angels and enjoying a life without pain. Rest easy Debra. Your Selo Family
Dear Susan, Curtis, and Family, Our condolences to you all at this difficult time. Our loving thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care, The Johnson and Stroeder Families
