Ronald Lee Nakonechny

July 20th, 2023

Forever in our hearts.

In loving memory of Ronald Lee Nakonechny who passed away on July 20 2023, at the age of 58.

Ronald (Ron) was born on December 1, 1964 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ron grew up in Cupar and attended Cupar School and Luther College in Regina.

Since he was a boy, Ron had an infectious smile. His laughter and that grin of his ensured those around him felt his warm and fun personality. Ron was the type of person who would help anyone and often put the needs of others ahead of his own.

As a young boy, Ron would enjoy riding his bike alongside his grandfather on his grandparent’s  farm in the Red Fox District. His love for bikes extended to motorcycles as a teenager and was often seen around town on his motorcycle with his brother and their friends. Ron was also an avid snowmobiler who spent many years riding the trails in and around Regina Beach and the Qu’Appelle Valley. He would often call his mother to see what snowmobile races were happening in the area so he could ride out.

Ron’s other passion in life was driving semi-trucks. He spent many years on the road hauling freight across North America. Eventually, his entrepreneurial spirit would lead him to running his own commercial driver training business in Pilot Butte. He taught hundreds of students to drive safely and responsibly and was recognized for his teaching success.

Ron is predeceased by his brother Murray. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his partner Jodi Stubel, children Sarah and Alexander, parents Walter and Darlene, sister Ronalda (Peter), nieces Shaina and Jessica, nephews Kyle, Liam, Benjamin, Graeme, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church 194 Bay Ave, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK with Reverend Jo Mader officiating. Reception to follow. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
