Allan Thorval Ruud passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, April 25th after a long courageous battle with cancer.  The family is now at peace, as Allan is no longer in pain.

He was born on June 8th, 1950, in Flin Flon, Manitoba to parents Thorval & Kathleen Ruud.  His only sibling Marilyn always watched over him with a close eye and soon came to be known to her brother as “No-No”.   Soon after Allan was born, the Ruud family moved to Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.

He is predeceased by his father Thorval, his mother Kathleen (husbands, Richard PrIce and Russell Dixon) and cousin Ken Ashdown.

Allan is survived by his wife Ingrid and former husband Glenn’s daughters, Mia and Erin (Quinn) and their children Drayson and Kayden.

Allan is survived by his former wife, Pam McCallum-Ruud, their daughter Nicole (Darren) and their children Aria and Madelyn, his son Brad (Sarah) and youngest son Greg (Kim) and their son Emerson.

He is survived by his sister Marilyn (Karl) and their children Jeff (Kelly) and their children Chad (Brandy), children Presley and Brooks.  Brook (Murray), children Addison, Hudson and Leighton.  Jim (Alisa) children Brea, Sydney and Shaemus and their mother Heather, youngest son Jason and his children Kemp and Nalla and their mother Melanie.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Pasqua Hospital, including the Emergency Unit (for the many times Allan was cared for with much respect).  You are all amazing!  Special thanks to Dr. Chalchal and his team at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre for your care during his treatments.  Last but not least, to the Palliative Care Unit, for the love and kindness that was shown towards Allan and the family.  You are ALL angels in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit.

A memorial service will be held at the RCMP Chapel, 2 Dewdney Ave., Royal Canadian Mounted Police Depot Division, Regina, Saskatchewan on Saturday, May 27th, 2023, at 2 pm.  Lunch will follow at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Ave.

Interment will be in Fort Qu’Appelle at the Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.

My heart is with all of you at this heartbreaking time. May the sadness soften to smiles in time and may you know that he touched the hearts of those who had limited time to spend with him. A great man who will be missed very much. Travel in Peace Uncle Allan.

The Penno family from Golden BC send their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Allan Ruud. We have so many treasured memories being neighbours and friends over all the years since 1976. I hope my late husband Arnie ( June 24, 2022) was one of the ones welcoming Allan home. Pam and I shed many tears just a few days ago sharing lunch in Calgary remembering so many occasions. Rest in Peace Allan. Much love and hugs to Nicole, Brad, Greg and families, you will always be part of our family, Carol, Sherry (Les) Donna (Corey) Loralie and Billy. Condolences are also offered to Ingrid on the loss of her husband. We had the pleasure of meeting her within the past 8 years.

We are so very sorry to hear about Allan. We have lots of great memories of Allan from our School years. He was always at the Remembrance Day Services. He was a really nice gentleman with such a soft kind manner. Our condolences to the family

Ingrid and family; I was saddened to hear of Al's passing. He was one of my favourites. I always told him he was too nice to be a police officer because he was such a sweet guy. I remember his excellent sense of humour. One time he stuck a coffee label on his arm and said "I'm on the patch." He was a wonderful man and he will be missed. ❤️

Sincere sympathy to all of Allan's family. May memories of happier times be a comfort to you.

Our hearts are very saddened to hear of Allan's passing! Bob and I have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time! I will always cherish the many great conversations Allan and I had while cutting his hair. He was a very kind and gentle man.

My deepest condolences to the Ruud family and friends. Many fond memories of his kind and generous soul!
