March 3, 1939 – June 4, 2024

 

We sadly announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother & Friend, Ethel Fichtner, on June 4, 2024, at the age of 85.

Ethel was born in Norquay, SK, to proud farmer and hotel owner Daniel Griffiths and Vera Griffiths.

Ethel grew up on the farm with her two brothers, Tommy and Jerry who affectionately nicknamed her as, Sissy.

She found joy in the little things, whether it was going to garage sales, watching football with the family, going to the casino with friends, reading her favorite books or dancing and music.

Battling through her illness of COPD for many years and then later, Cancer, she always had a smile never lost her enthusiasm for life. A great joy was found in the company of family & many friends.

 Ethel will be remembered for her humor and the ability to make everyone she was with in a room feel special. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember her for the warm and loving Christmas’s and the ability to simply have a good time!

 

Ethel is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jo-Ann Serbu (Fichtner).

She is survived by her three sons: Don (Angie), Garth (Cathy) & Garrett. As well as her grandchildren; James, Chantel, Adam, Chandler, Chelsea, Ryan,Quinton, Tammy (Matt), Tara & Danny and great grand children; Vera, Carter, Chase, Jaimen, Jaxton & Madison.

Messages:

We had so much fun..O know she would not want us to be sad but remember the great memories we shared while she was with us.

I have memories of going to bingo with your mom and Jo Ann. Don’t remember any of us being very lucky. My sincere condolences to your family. Thinking of you all at this sad time.
