Pamela Christine Goulet
1953 - 2024
We are saddened to announce the death of Pamela Goulet on September 2nd, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her three daughters Carla Mackey (Jason), Christie Trann (Curtis) and Nicole Goulet and grandchildren Declan, Landon, Jensen, Abby, Ethan and Freddie.
Born December 29th, 1953 in Kingston Ontario, she was the beloved only daughter of Roy and Olive Barraclough. She spent her childhood in Eastern Ontario with her numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and shared many happy summers abroad in England and Europe. Pamela was resilient throughout her life and her love of knowledge made her a lifelong learner. A graduate of Queens University, St Lawrence College and University of Regina, she pursued careers in many fields and ultimately had a successful, hardworking career at Regina Transit. She made a lasting impact with her warmth, work ethic and friendly disposition for anyone needing Paratransit services.
Pamela had a passion for drinking tea, reading books and her animals. She was very spiritual and a member of the Congregationalist Wiccan Association of Saskatchewan in which she was active for several years.
In honouring Pamela’s wishes there will be no celebration of life. Her ashes will be brought to England at a later date. Donations can be made to Regina Humane Society in her honour.
Sea-Fever
By John Mansfield
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
Messages:
To Christie, Carla, Nicole: My sincere condolences to you and your families on the loss of your mom. I had the pleasure of knowing Pam through banking, for the last 20 years.......she was always one of my favorite customers, and I loved sitting and chatting with her. When we first met, we seemed to hit it off fairly quickly, and we talked about many things when I would see her. Again, I am so sorry for your loss, but Pam is at peace now. I know you have many cherished memories to help you through this difficult time.
Pam was loved by her co-workers and customers at paratransit because of her kind, understanding and sensitive manner. Pam had outstanding customer service and in all the years she worked at Regina Transit I don’t think she ever received a customer complaint. Pam had a special way of listening to and understanding customer and co-worker perspectives and often was a sounding board for those trying to work through a problem. Pam also shared with all of her co-workers the special love she had Carla, Christie, Nicole and her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Condolences to you and your family. Perfect picture and send off for your mom who is now an eternal traveller, may she rest in peace.
Pam was a most loved cousin. She was always fun to be with and had a great laugh. Pam and my brother and I spent our Christmases together when we were younger, and she would come up to our summer cottage. She was so much fun to be with and I always looked forward to her visits. She will be missed by her family and friends.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mom was ahard working, kind, funny, and understanding person who loved her three daughters very much! Rest in peace.
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your mom. Oh, the memories of high school shenanigans that your mom helped keep secret for us! Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. Your mom was a beauty, and I know you will continue to represent her spirit and memory.
