Shawn Russell Herbert
April 1st, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Shawn Russell Herbert on April 1, 2024, at the young age of 51 years old. Shawn was born in 1973 in Regina SK. He grew up loving hockey in which he took a special interest in the Toronto Maple Leafs and continued his love for the team to his very last day. Shawn was known for his love of music growing up, with a remarkable collection of cds and cassettes. He could always be found listening to his favourite tunes while wearing a leather jacket or backwards cap which he seemed to figure would never go out of style despite what anybody said.
He met the mother of his children in 1990 and was blessed with two daughters born in 1993 and 1996. Shawn loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them. He loved camping each and every summer, and sharing his love of video games with his children. Grand Theft Auto may have not been the first choice for all parents but his daughters grew up loving it all the same. Shawn excelled at fixing anything and everything. He could take any electronic completely apart, fix it, and miraculously put all the tiny pieces back where they belong. Also, on many many occasions he could be found fixing his teenage daughters' vehicles after they showed off their Grand Theft Auto skills by hitting all the curbs.
If anything was able to put a smile on Shawn’s face it was spoiling his granddaughters and lounging on the couch with his many loved animals. Mia, Milo, Maggie, Winnie, Missy and Oscar will forever miss their beloved owner. Shawn was predeceased by his biological father Ken Huber. He is survived by his mother Darlene Herbert, adoptive father Michael Wayne Herbert, brothers Ashley(Vicky), Nathan, Justin, Chris and Corey as well as his two daughters Shyla(James) and Crystal(Zach), two beloved grandchildren Kylie and Mackenzie along with many other family and friends.
In Shawn's honour, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Serbian Club in Regina (2775 Avonhurst Dr) on April 27 at 1pm-330pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Regina Humane Society, an organization Shawn felt strongly about.

So sorry girlies for the loss of your Dad.❤️ Your Dad and me would have the best talks back in the day when he would come to my house for hair cuts!! And being in the neighbourhood together which seems so long ago.
Very sad
I grew up with Shawn when we were kids in Prince George BC. He was going to come visit me last summer. RIP Shawn
