Arnold Leo Omoth

1928 - 2024

Arnold Leo Omoth peacefully passed away at the age of 95 on February 21, 2024.

Arnold was predeceased by his wife Hazel and son David and will be sadly missed by his son Kevin (Barb) and grandson Sean.

Arnold loved to farm. Raising 53 crops west of Milestone on Section 8. He believed in farming half and half and if there was a single weed, it meant going over all of summer fallow until it was black. A heavy-duty mechanic by trade, he was also an electrician, plumber, welder, and telephone lineman. Privately charitable, he was a life member of the Elks, the Masonic Lodge, and the Shrine. After moving off the farm in his early 80's, he went for coffee with his buddies at the 'Senate' in the Southland Mall and regularly visited Kevin's farm near Lumsden.

He enjoyed good health for most his life.

A family Celebration of Life is to be determined at a later date.

Messages:

My thoughts are with Kevin and his family as well all Arnold's loved ones and friends. It has been years, but the Omoth home was always felt safe and comforting. I recall the kindness extended to Kevin's friends by both Arnold and Hazel. Rest in peace.

Arnold was part of my family forever. We were partners for many years on Section 8… he was the best steward of that land and loved it. I’m very grateful for that, but also his friendship.

Arnold always had a kind word and was interested in everyone he knew and met! He’s one of the good ones and will be sadly missed! Here’s to a long and well lived life! Hopefully he and dad are chatting and talking farming in heaven! My condolences to Kevin, Barb and family Glen, Shirley & Doug Gilchrist

You will be greatly missed my friend. We enjoyed many a good time together, sometimes we were even well behaved. You were a top rate farmer and an even better friend.

Thinking of you Kevin,Barb and the rest of the family. Will never forget the smile on Arnold’s face and the twinkle in his eyes. Sending hugs… Marian&Mark.

Rest In Peace Uncle Arnold…

RIP Arnold. Always greeted with a friendly hello and a smile when I saw him. Arnold farming is still talked about locally, growing crops off fields that today knock the best farmers down a notch. A friendly intelligent man that stood up for his beliefs and family.
