It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Wildman (nee Sawley) announce her sudden passing on January 12, 2024 at the age of 58 years old.
She will be remembered by her spouse of 7 years, John; children: Benji and Shiralee(Isaac); 3 grandchildren; mother, Phyllis; 8 brothers; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Alfred; grandson, Neo.
Barbara was born in Fort Rae, NWT. She was adopted by her parents, Alfred and Phyllis of Nanton AB, when she was 7 years old. She spent many years in Vulcan AB, but recently moved to Kyle SK.
Barbara long suffered from alcohol addiction for most of her adult life; and its hard to define a person in an obituary, when to most, they only knew Barbara as an alcoholic. She was kind and thoughtful, always ready with a card to give for any and every occasion. She was meticulous and took pride in her home, having a place for everything and everything in its place. She loved scary movies, and if the tv was not on, music was! She also adored her dog, Ocean, and cat, Pheobe.
Barbara loved her family. She considererd her mother her best friend. She loved coming from a big family, and would talk of her favorite childhood memories at the ranch. She loved her children and its been said that whenever she spoke of her children, it brought a smile to her face with pride in her voice. She loved being a grandma, and screamed in excitement at each announcement. Though living with addiction was hard, she tried her best to show her love and support to anyone who needed it.
A private service will be held at the family's request.
This is for Sharilee, I went to Kyle to help your Dad move and he showed me where your mom had been living. I said a prayer of peace and comfort knowing that your mom is resting at peace and showering you and your children with her love from above. ❤️
