Donald Eugene Mitchell
October 2nd, 2014
Donald was born in 1920 in Vancouver, B.C. and passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2014 in Surrey, B.C. He is survived by his nephew Calvin (Donna), niece Kelly (Blair), great nieces Temira and Tessa and great nephew, Matthieu.
Donald enjoyed fishing, hiking and being outdoors. He enjoyed building houses as he was a real handyman. Donald lived in Burton, B.C. from 1969-2009 after which he moved to the Coast to be closer to his family. While at Laurel Place he participated in activities such as fitness and trivia and he loved to sing.
He will be greatly missed by all of his many friends up in Nakusp and Burton, B.C., and especially missed by Kevin, Nicole and Brooklyn Schiller.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
Rest in peace Mitch. We rented his house on the highway in Burton for several years and he came by frequently for dinner and to visit. He once even brought me a partridge that he had shot. We loved Mitch and sent him Christmas cards for many years after we moved away. Glad that he enjoyed his latter years on the coast. I cannot picture him singing though.
