Daphne Joan Dawson
October 26th, 2018
Daphne passed away following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Daphne grew up in Vancouver, and was educated at UBC, where she completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Her exceptional career straddled rehab medicine, teaching, and social services. Besides being a loving mother and grandmother, she was an entrepreneur and a successful master gardener, writer and artist. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her caring, strength and irrepressible spirit. There will be a private family farewell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association www.alzheimers.ca.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
As early days turn into the first few weeks, I continue to hold each of you close at heart and in thought. Memories of times at Camp & on the farm weave through my mind; early years in Vancouver and a Christmas visit with all of you in Kimberley. Aunty Daphne played a large role in my growing up years. I hold her memory with tenderness and love. May she rest in peace. May your memories bring you comfort and joy; and any tears that fall be cleansing. I've lost contact information and would like to be back in touch. In the meantime, surrounding each of you with loving thoughts, as you walk through your mourning and loss. Take gentle care. with love Christy Linder
