Leonardo Cantos De Torres
April 8th, 2018

Leonardo was born and raised in Rosario, Batangas, Philippines by parents Maria and Fausto De Torres He was the oldest of six siblings. He immigrated to Canada and was living in Coquitlam when he passed away.
Leonardo is survived by his wife, Avelina Dimaandal De Torres and his children, Rafael (Nora), Fredelito (Emelyn), Elma (Chris), Raulito (Jennifer), Arturo, Ronaldo and Ferdimar (Gay) and his Grandchildren, Noryln (Tim), Loressa (Justin), Leah bel, Catherine, Alpha, Beatrice (Justin), Omega, Phibert (Kit), Zabrina (Ariel), Claudelle (Iynkaran), Jordan, Kathleen (Jeff), Raul Joseleo, Kirztyn, Marcus and his great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Leyla, Ethan, Taliah, Isaiah, Jaylen, Zane, Eli & Ezra.
He is predeceased by his son, Arnulfo, and granddaughter Loralee (Mark)
Leonardo was loved and respected by many. His sense of humor and style will be missed by all who knew him.
He has had many great accomplishments in life. One of his unrecorded is being the designer of one the Chicago Bulls championship rings during his time working at Jostens Canada but his greatest accomplishment is the 63 years of marriage he shared with his wife, Avelina and the family they built together.
He has travelled the world extensively for work and pleasure. Reaching destinations like, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Guam, Bahrain, Singapore, France, Spain and many more but his most favorite place to be was Rome. Being a devout Catholic, this was a “dream come true” experience.
Music has always been a huge part of his life, if not singing his favourite song “My Way” and collecting many of the classics throughout his life to gracing many a dance floor performing the tango with his wife. All eyes on them with every graceful step they took.
The last piece of advice he gave was to his granddaughter before her marriage, “when your husband comes home so quiet and so tired because of his work, give him a beer, a bottle of beer.” Saying this with a huge smile on his face, this goes to show that even though the topic is serious he can always make light of the situation through his infamous sense of humour.
