Leonard D. Greaves

October 16th, 2018

Len passed away peacefully at Abbotsford Regional Hospital after a long struggle with heart failure.

Len was born and grew up in Windsor, Ontario.  He graduated from Assumption High School where he enjoyed the many opportunities to play basketball, football, baseball and golf.  Following graduation, he worked for Imperial Tobacco, then decided to join the pilot training program in the Canadian Armed Forces, then moved on to a career in Financial Services and in his later years with Reimer Express.  He enjoyed sports and coached baseball and softball in the communities he lived in Alberta and BC.

Len is survived by his wife, Ellenor, son Stewart, and brother Melvin (Sue), daughter-in-law Janet, and granddaughters Emma and Kathryn, his many nieces and nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Lorraine, son John, sisters Carol and Melanie.

Len will be remembered for his story telling, and endless supply of jokes.  He loved his Friday morning breakfasts with the ROMEO’s [Retired Old Men Eating Out].  He looked forward to his visits to Windsor, Ontario, and to Baddeck, Cape Breton.

The family thanks the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for exceptional care and the support of friends.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial United Church on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Memorial United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
