Messages:
I was saddened to hear of Burton's unexpected passing. Just hearing his name brings back memories of Mackenzie elementary and John Oliver high school. He was definitely one of the great characters I had the privilege of knowing. He will be missed. My condolences to Stanley, Terasa, Warren and other family members.
So sorry to hear Tons of fond memories , laughs , getting in trouble as kids in “old neighborhood”. Thinking of him brings brings a big smile to my face. Thoughts and prayers to the family Steve
Class of 82 with Burton at John Oliver High School. It was a very special graduating class with a great group of guys, of which Burton was one of. He was always just a "nice guy" is what I'll always remember about him. Hadn't seen him in years, but I'm sure if I had run into him, it would have felt just like yesterday. May you rest in peace Burt, and my heartfelt condolences to the family.
To Keefer and Terry and Stan: Although we wish we had them, we will surely not find the right words of comfort for this difficult and sudden loss that you have suffered. Please receive our gentle and loving message today knowing simply that we were very grieved to learn of Burt’s passing, that you are in our thoughts frequently, and that Burt was very lucky to have all of you in his life. With our sincerest condolences, David & Alexandra & Thomas (extended family on the Schoon side)
Just heard the news I was in the bush for 2 weeks. I knew Burton in high school, he was always laughing or making people laugh in Mr Cybucky' s automotive class. I will always remember him as a special guy and wonderful classmate. My sincere condolences to all his close friends and family. Martin Neufeld
I also grew up with Burt in my neighborhood in East Van . My best friend for over 40 yrs. Kind ,compassionate and an awesome guy. Would help anyone out if they needed it. A real old school stand up guy. Great memories of playing sports together, fishing, walking the neighborhood streets at night and laughing hysterically. An amazing friend that I will miss forever. I've had such a strong connection to Burt through my life I feel like I've lost a limb. My thoughts and prayers go out to his mom and dad, Terasa and Stanley his brother Warren and his son Keefer. Gone too soon, rest easy my beautiful friend I will never forget you. With love Rick Single
May our prayers be with you Keefer and family as you go through this loss together.
I grew up with Burton through elementary and high school. He was a good friend. He had such a great sense of humour and was always fun to be with. I was just searching the Internet to try and reconnect with him to find he passed only days ago. Very sad. His parents were always lovely to me and my friends when we visited. My condolences to all of his family and friends, I must say I am very sad to hear this. Burton is a huge part of my memories growing up in East Vancouver. Rest in peace my friend. Love John Torosoff.
Burt's passing is untimely and very sad . You are missed by your good Parents and your wonderful son Keefer . We will always wonder what might have been possible in your future and treasure the good memories.

So very sorry about Burton's passing. I always had a tender spot in my heart for him and miss him dearly. I'll always remember Burt & Allan making sure they got a good portion of my turkey stuffing at Christmas. They were little rascals, but I loved them anyway. Much Love, Burt's Auntie Alice
