Paul Kirlik

Surrounded by his family, Paul Kirlik went to be with his Lord and Saviour in his 88th year, on December 12, 2018.
Paul was born in Romania and immigrated with his family to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1952. He later moved to Vancouver where he met and married Eleonore Truderung in 1954.
Paul worked at Silvertree Sawmill in Vancouver as Head Sawyer. He was awarded a “30 Years Accident Free” award, and retired in 1993.
Paul is survived by Eleonore, his loving wife of 63 years; his three children Walt (Laurie), Harry (Janice) and Marita (Lyle); eight grandchildren Kelsey (Cody), Bobby, Marie (Cody), Ben (Alicia), Cody, Grant (Danica), Sarah and Tyler; and one great grandchild Elenor.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elim’s Harrison 3 East for their loving care of Paul over the last eight months.
A celebration of life for Paul Kirlik will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2018 at 1:30 pm in the Oasis Room at Elim Village, 9025 160th Street, Surrey, BC.

In March of 1983, Walt took me to meet his family when they lived on St. Catherine’s in Vancouver ~ I later became a member of their family in 1985. I have many fond memories of Dad, and although I believe I gave him ‘a run for his money’, it was in his last weeks that he held my hand told me that I was so precious, which meant more to me than he knew. Although he tended to be a more serious person, I recall times of when I would tell him stories of something that I had done, and he would laugh so hard with tears coming from his eyes. Those were very treasured times for me. In his later years, he would tell us that he only wanted gifts at Christmas time, or on his birthday, if they were useful. I gave that a great deal of thought and that year Dad got a case of toilet paper! I don’t know who laughed harder! It will be memories like this, that we will find comforting in this next while. I believe that Dad is in a much better place – he is home now. God Bless you Dad, Love Laurie
Dear Harry, Janice and family. We are so sorry for your loss. We know how hard it is to lose a parent and the large void it leaves in the family. Knowing he was a Christian gives the eternal hope of seeing and being with him again. God is faithful to his children. Paul has left behind a great legacy evidenced by his loving and caring family. May Gods peace dominate your every moment during this sad and memory filled time.
