Karen Leahy

Fondest remembrance of Karen and our school days. Sorry to hear of her passing. Love to the family during this difficult time of loss.

I first met Karen 34 years ago, when I started kindergarten and my friendship with Shana started. I remember countless holiday trips that the family invited me on, last but not least to Bellingham and West Edmonton Mall, Christmas dinners, and birthday parties at the house. Karen was like my second mom, always looking out, keeping us entertained by signing oldies but goodies. She was generous and kind, and she will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all the great memories Mrs. L.

She was such a lovely person, may she rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Karen's family. We attended Templeton Secondary High school together. I only got to know that Karen lived in Richmond as well as myself. So close and yet so far. Karen always had a smile and I remember her laughter. A lovely lady, a special classmate. Karen will be missed at our Templeton reunion next month, but not forgotten. RIP Karen

Yes Pat Roman (Shamro) said it well how Karen came to the Templeton Grade 10 ladies luncheon - we were the last grade 10 class to graduate then it went to Grade 11 and 12. It is amazing how we really do not change that much over the years or maybe it is because of our friendships in our growing up years. Karen was always a smiling gal and an awesome chuckle and that never changed. Lynne Gaster (Thomson)

I knew Karen through our years at Templeton Secondary School from Grades 7 to 10 I have not seen her for quite some time as I have not been at the re-unions for a few years but I do remember the last one I was at we talked quite a bit and talked a lot of our time at Templeton and all the fun we all had there. I also remember Susan Parker was there with her the last time I'd seen her as they were always together in school. Karen will be sadly missed by all who knew her. As a classmate of hers at Templeton Secondary, I loved to be around her as she could always make you laugh and laugh we did. I lost touch with Karen over the years with raising family, etc., but was so happy she came to our last reunion luncheon 3 years ago. It was so good to see her again, she hadn't aged a day and still looked the same as when we graduated; we just picked up from where we left off! She had a great time that day and expressed how grateful she was for Janis D. who talked her into coming to the luncheon. Her infectious laugh will always resonate with me! My condolences go out to Mike, Shana, Trevor, Diane, Molly and Jack.

Karen was my best friend for 60 years! She was kind, caring, generous, fun, full of life and always up for an adventure. Adventures - those we had lots of during my visits home here to Canada or her visits to me in California. We had lots of fun and laughter galore!! We shared so much love and support for each other over the years and were always just a phone call or text away. I'll miss our long, long phone conversations and laughs. I will always have wonderful memories of times spent with you and will forever miss you!! Rest in Peace my dearest friend and keep smiling!! Love, Susan
