Eric Conwell Sauer
December 11th, 2018
Eric Sauer (Erick Conwell Sauer) was born near Southey, Saskatchewan, the eldest son of Frank and Emelie Sauer. He went home to be with the Lord on the evening of December 11, 2018 in his 96th year. Eric is survived by his sister Doris Ingram, brothers Ivan Sauer and Dennis Sauer, loving wife of 73 years, Gwyneth, two children Annie and Stephen (Angela), and grandchildren Christopher, Geoffrey, Natalee, and Dylan.
Eric repaired and maintained aircraft for the Allied forces during the 2nd World War, meeting the love of his life while stationed at Comox, and worked as a car mechanic for the rest of his working years. Eric owned various businesses, most notably Norgate Texaco and Eric Sauer Motors. Eric and Gwyneth were sustained and guided by their faith in Jesus Christ and actively served and attended Capital Hill Alliance, Alta Vista Baptist, West Van Baptist, First Baptist, and White Rock Baptist churches. At family, social, and church events, Eric was always the one filming with the blinding bright lights. Cinematography was his hobby. Family could count on him to nap at the table after Sunday night dinner of roast beef and potatoes.
Eric was the solid rock of his family and always there for sound, loving advice and support, sacrificing himself to serve others. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Sunday, February 10, 2019, 3 p.m., at White Rock Baptist Church, 1657 140 St, Surrey, BC.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
