Suzanne Southwell

Surrounded by her loving family, Suzanne Mary Julia Alberta SOUTHWELL (Nee: NEY) was united with her Lord and Heavenly Father on March 10, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Suzanne was born in Nairobi, Kenya and came to Canada early in life with her parents. She grew up in Nanaimo and Victoria; moved briefly to the USA, where she received her degree in Education: and then returned to British Columbia where she taught Kindergarten to Grade 7 in Duncan and Richmond School Districts until her retirement in 1993. Following her retirement, family became her focus in life.

Predeceased by her brothers David and Jamie, Suzanne is survived by her daughter Betty (Ken); grandchildren Tracy (Peter), Jeff (Lindsay), Brandon, Julia (Jeff) and Rachel; brothers Philip (Marie), Hugh (Elaine) and George (Margie); sister Sally; sisters-in-law Margot and Marie; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held on Thursday, March 22^nd at 11:30 a.m. at South Delta Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Food on the Corner foodonthecorner.ca or the Union Gospel Mission ugm.ca.
