Stanley B. Wilson

Stan passed away peacefully on Friday May 25, 2018 in his 97th year. When Stan turned 60, he said he “was only going to live for another five years.” Stan is predeceased by his wife Dorothy; younger brother Richard and his eldest son Robert. Stanley is survived by his two children Gordon and Patricia; six grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and their spouses.
Stanley served in the Canadian Army during World War 2, R.C.E.M.E. 1942-1946 and took part in the D-Day Invasion. After the war he worked for Finning Caterpillar. Stanley then went to work for the Burnaby Fire Department until his retirement as the Chief of Fire Prevention.
The family would like to thank the staff at George Derby care home (main south). There is to be no service by request. In lieu of flowers please donate to the George Derby care home or the charity of your choice.

well, stan was a good person as you know he was my officer before he went to fire prevention, taught me a lot and made me a better person and firefighter i remember one of his boys bringing him to the retirees christmas dinner, and how happy he was just to be there i never knew about his service in ww2, but it seems like most of the veterans did not like to talk about it my best wishes to you all, he is in a place where all hero's go now!
