John Mills

John Mills passed away peacefully February 25, 2020 in Abbotsford B.C. He was born 1929 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and came to Canada in 1952.
John is predeceased by his first wife Kathleen Emily Mills (nee Benham). He is survived by his wife Eleanor Mills and his children Robert Mills (Olga), Lynn Jeffrey (Stuart), Gary Mills (Debbie), Jan Bentley (Tom) and Lisa Baker (Blair). He was fortunate to also have 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
John served 7 years with the British army and 31 years with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. After his military career, he moved to Mission and served with BC Corrections where he also served as an executive in the British Columbia Government Employees Union.
Later in his life, he developed a passion for dancing.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice.
