Marie was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1921. She grew up in a large family- five

After being stationed in Victoria, B.C., Gordon brought his family west. They settled in Vancouver, B.C. where they resided for close to 70 years raising their 2 daughters and 1 son. Marie worked in Woodwards Department store for 40 years as a department supervisor.
After retiring, Marie and Gordy moved to Pioneer Park in Aldergrove, B. C. where they were able to become snowbirds, spending the winter months in Yuma, Arizona and the summers in Aldergrove and their cabin in Birch Bay, Washington.
Marie loved being the patriarch of a large family, giving her famous speeches and advice. She stated her 50th and 65th wedding anniversaries were highlights of her long, happy life. She was never more happy than when she was surrounded by all her family and friends. She found joy in creative arts and sharing and teaching with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed.
