Lloyd Kenneth Grondahl
February 2nd, 2021
On behalf of our family, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and dear friend, Lloyd Kenneth Grondahl.
Lloyd worked many years as a mechanic at the American Can Company in Vancouver. Lloyd enjoyed many things, including daily crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing and hanging with his life long friends at Hastings Race Course and rarely missing his two favourite evening shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, excited when he would get the answer before anyone. Lloyd spent time with his children and grandchildren as much as possible and always enjoyed an annual trip to Pinantan Lake.
On February 2, 2021 Lloyd passed away peacefully at North Shore Hospice in North Vancouver at the age of 86, Lloyd had been courageously fighting to overcome illness and gain strength. He maintained his faith in god, courageous spirit, and his charming wit. He is predeceased by his parents, Olav and Solvieg Grondahl, brothers Bud and Gordon Grondahl . Lloyd is survived by his daughter Debra (Warren) son Gary (Courtenay) grandchildren Tyler (Rebeca) Joel ,Haley, great grandchildren Sophia, Santiago and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations to one of Lloyds charities close to his heart in his memory; Canadian Red Cross, Covenant House (Vancouver), Union Gospel Mission, Cyrus Centre (Abbotsford).
The family wishes to send a special thank you to all of his medical professionals for their care and compassion.
