Marion MacCulloch

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Marion (Morag) MacCulloch on Dec 18, 2021 at the Waterford Retirement Centre in Tsawwassen surrounded by family. Morag was born in Glasgow, Scotland on Jul 7, 1931 and had 3 other sisters (Mamie, Jackie and Jeanette). She met her future husband, Gordon skiing in Lillihammer, Norway. They both loved to cycle in Scotland. Morag emigrated to Canada in 1956, marrying Gordon on Apr 12, 1958 in Vancouver, BC. They started a family in Burnaby and as the family grew, they moved to their new home in Ladner in 1966 where they resided with their 4 kids. Morag became a Brownie leader during her daughter’s early years. Morag loved playing tennis and was a founding member of the Tsawwassen Tennis Club in 1967. She moved with her young family to Kamloops in 1973 and Campbell River in 1976 and eventually came back to Delta to live in Tsawwassen in 1978 where she lived ever since. Wherever Morag lived she was very energetic and optimistic, loved by her many friends.  Morag loved to learn new things like cooking, knitting and making flower arrangements. Teaching her extended family how to make Christmas wreaths became a long-lasting tradition. Morag was a very good bridge and crib player and her many bridge friends will be sad to hear of her passing. She loved her tennis and played league at the TTC until the age of 79. In her retirement years she vacationed with Gordon in Phoenix, Arizona for over 20 years during the winter months enjoying the warm weather. Morag was a very caring person, putting family and friends ahead of herself. She had an infectious smile that people won’t forget. She volunteered at the Ladner and Tsawwassen Thrift stores for many years. She took up lawn bowling and played with her husband at the Tsawwassen Lawn Bowling Club. It was only when she lost her mobility that her life long activities became good memories. Morag is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gordon, daughters Sheena (Murray) and Alison, sons David (Liesa) and Ian (Laurel) and grandsons Duncan, Colin, Christopher, Jason, Samuel and Lucas and great grandson Jackson. The family would like to thank the staff at the Waterford Retirement Centre for their passionate care. They were wonderful. Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life will be held in Tsawwassen sometime in 2022. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Delta Hospital Foundation in Morag’s name.
