Beverley (Bev) Chila

July 3,1929 - Feb 22, 2023

Bev was born in Vancouver B.C.  She was the eldest child of Harry and Blanche Foster, and she spent her childhood in Vancouver with her loving family. They lived in the Kingsway/ Victoria Drive area.

Bev got her teaching certificate after high school graduation and spent many enjoyable years teaching kindergarten/grade 1 in Surrey.

Her absolute joy in life were her 5 grandchildren, Brad (Colleen), Sarah (Dillon), Alex (Carly), Rachel (Dean) and Adam. She and dad loved spending any time they could with them. With 5 grandkids, they were kept hopping over many retirement years.

Bev was also very active in her church, spending time helping run the Golden Agers program.

She had many words of advice and was always ready to be a good listener or provide a shoulder to cry on for those going through rough times.  Bev always put others first and didn’t quit, if she started something, she saw it through to completion. She demonstrated compassion and empathy on a consistent basis.

She was always a faithful wife, mother, and friend.  As a women of immense faith, she prayed for every family member every day without fail. That in itself has amazed us for many years.

Bev is survived by her 3 boys Steve (Maryanne), Ken (Laurel), Don (Linda), her only much-loved sister Gerry and many nieces and nephews.  Bev was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 65 years Dan (The Candyman) and her only brother, Barry Foster.

We love you mom, you’re always in our hearts!

Messages:

Our Auntie Bev will always hold such a special place in our hearts. Hers was a life well lived, loving and tangibly supporting family and friends. A faithful servant of Jesus, she is indeed safely home.

What a great story of my dear sister’s life. You, her 3 sons and your wives, need to be recognized for your consistent love and attentiveness to your treasured mom. Humbly and with love, Auntie G
