It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, and “papa”. Vern was taken from us suddenly. He was a long-time resident of Aldergrove and over the years he was involved in many organizations such as president of Aldergrove Minor Baseball, president of Parkside PAC, Scout Leader, and an on-call firefighter to name a few. He was taken from us far too young and will be soulfully missed. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Evelyn, his son Brandon (Heather), daughter Chelsea (Jeff), daughter Amanda (Dan), and his beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Abigail, Jordyn, Edward, Quinlyn, and other members of his immediate family. There will be no service at Vern’s request.

Dear Evelyn and Family, We were shocked and saddened to hear of Vern's passing. We will always remember him from the Firehall and Safeway. He was a wonderfully kind and caring man. He will be deeply missed by many people in our community. Sincere condolences to the entire family.

Leslie and I were saddened to hear about the passing away of Vern. I have many memories of your husband beginning with scouting and ending as friends I will always have fond memories of him and his family Darrell and Leslie Moore

Evelyn and family, we send you our deepest condolences. Co- worked with Vern at Aldergrove Safeway. He had me do a piece of artwork about the “St. Bernard coming out of the cat door” to bring into the birthing room, when his/your grand daughter was being born. I remember how hard he laughed when he first saw the drawing, and Evelyn, I will never forget the beautiful huge bouquet of flowers and card you both gave me as a Thankyou. Ev and family, Vern was a wonderful human ❤ loved by many always working for the good of people. My family and I will miss his smile, his laughter at Halloween, and Christmas after his house was decorated (first on the street ) RIP MY FRIEND TILL WE MEET AGAIN. THE YARYCH FAMILY

Ev and family ❤️ Vern was not just a friend; he was one of the good guys, someone who touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. As I reflect back on my memories I am reminded of the impact he had on those around him. His absence will undoubtedly be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. ❤️
Dear Ev, Brandon, Chelsea and Amanda, we were all so sorry to hear of Vern's passing. Vern was such a family man, charismatic and full of positive vibes everywhere he went. He was a man who handled all things good and not so good with an attitude that had a way of taking even a terrible situation and somehow making things okay. He listened and had wisdom even when he was younger. What stands out to me about Vern was that he loved and cherished his family, above all. I always wondered why there couldn't be more "Verns" in the world. Sudden departures can make things hard to understand sometimes, we have been through a couple recently ourselves. A close friend of mine shared some words of wisdom with me not long ago when we were in a state of disbelief, trying to digest what we had been through. I'd like to share that with you now and hopefully it will bring you some comfort. I can't remember the exact words but she said something like this, "Although we feel overwhelmed and saddened over the loss of those we love who have left us, the real sadness would have been never having had them in our lives at all. Remembering is a journey the heart takes back in time and our thoughts and memories are the only tickets needed to ride. We who have truly loved, are blessed beyond belief. Remember everything, with a smile." Please know that we are sending our love to you all and praying you find peace in the days ahead. If we can do anything for you, let us know.
