On Wednesday April 12th at 8:34 pm my beautiful, fierce, and intrepid Mama took her final breath on this earth. Words cannot nearly express the profound heartbreak I feel at this moment. Thank you for everything you have done for us, my darling Mamece. Thank you for your encouragement and everlasting love. Thank you for being such an inspiration. You survived the Second World War, living with the in-laws in Australia, working in a highly technical field while learning a new language, making another huge journey from Australia to Canada, Tata's heart attacks, Scarlett's cancer, your own Covid, which you fought twice and survived! But then your heart gave out... I would like to think it was so, so full of love that it had to burst as you couldn't contain the love you felt for all of us anymore. I will be forever grateful for everything you gave to Vida and me. Thank you Vida Jurcic, as well, for requesting a sibling. Neither I nor my children would be alive if you hadn't harangued Mama for a sibling when you were Scarlett's age. We owe you our lives. Mama, you were a trailblazer. I will never forget how you always told me, "Never let anyone tell you that you can't do anything a man can do!" And most importantly, thank you for your joy and positivity. I will try my very best to impart that way of living on to my children. In the words of one of your favourite musicians , Bobby McFerrin, "Don't worry... Be Happy." I hope you have found happiness in reuniting with all of our family on the other side. We will never, ever forget you, Mama. I love you. Your Mali Macic, Dana Jurcic.

In lieu of a funeral we will be having a ripper of a party at Oxford Street sometime this summer. EVERYONE is welcome. There will be a live band, dancing, and a TON of food. As Mama always said, "YOU MUST EAT!"
