Peggy Mazzone
It is with great sadness to announce that Peggy Mazzone passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023. She was our loving mother and nana, sister and aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched.
Peggy was born in England and while she had many friends and family there, she always called Canada home. Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Frank, with whom we hope she has reunited.
Peggy and Frank immigrated to Canada from England in 1952, married in 1953 and lived and worked in Toronto until their retirement to BC in 1995. Their retirement years were happy times filled with travel, gardening, and family.
Peggy was a kind and thoughtful person, and she took great joy in being a nana. She volunteered at the Hope Hospital as the Sunshine Lady and was an active member of the Chilliwack Grief Support Group as well as the Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners Society (CNHPS).
Her impact will be forever felt by her family. Her love, kindness, stories, and humour will be greatly missed.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Chilliwack Lifestyles, the Care Aides, the kind nurses at Chilliwack Hospital, and for the compassionate care provided by the nursing staff at Cascade Lodge.
A private Celebration of Life service was held for the family.
If desired, donations can be made in Peggy’s memory to:

Peggy and I were neighbours when both of us moved to Hope, we became good friends. Although, both of us moved again, we kept in touch by email and talked on Skype for a while. We met for breakfast once a month for quite a while and always enjoyed each other’s company. Peggy was a kind soul, will miss her very much. My condolences to Nina and Emmet who she loved very much.
I am one of the volunteers for CNHPS which Peggy attended our lunch and coffee parties on a regular basis until the end. She was such a lovely lady and everyone there enjoyed seeing her weekly. She will be sadly missed by all. My condolences to her daughter Nina who I met a couple times and the rest of her family. Marcia
Dear Nina and Family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences at the loss of your dear mother. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. I have many fond memories of your family when you lived in Scarborough. Your mum and dad were a lovely couple whom I greatly admired. I have thought about your family often over the years and will always be grateful to have known them. May loving memores bring you comfort at this difficult time.
