On Dec 17 2023 Al Parsons passed away following a short illness. This kind, strong, loving man is pre-deceased by his wife, Estermae and son Ken. He is survived by 2 brothers: Bob Parsons, Dave (Joan) Parsons; 3 daughters: Lucille, Vicki (Rob Egilsson), and Elva (Jean Mathieu); 7 grandchildren: Amber (Derek Wakeford), Ken Parsons Jr, Amanda Egilsson, Aaron (Andrea) Egilsson, Tyler Parsons-Mathieu (Zahra Patterson), Katie (Leo Kim) and Emily Mathieu; and 6 great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Wakeford, Michaela Wakeford, Avrey Wakeford, Mikayla Egilsson, Brynn Egilsson and Jadyn Kim; and many nieces and nephews.
After spending 20 years in the RCAF Search and Rescue squadron, Al and family moved back to the Comox Valley where he worked in the Forest Industry as a mechanic, and sold Life Insurance. After the family had grown and moved out, Al and Estermae moved to Chilliwack 35 years ago where he sold Life Insurance until officially retiring in 1995.
He was active in the local bowling leagues until he could no longer see or move well enough to play. He was an avid bridge player and loved jigsaw puzzles and classic cars.
His life goal was to live until 90… He was 86, but gave it a valiant effort.
We will miss our dear Papa.

Papa was like a 2nd Dad to me in my heart. He was kind and I know he cared for me. He had a wonderful sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. Gone but never forgotten. All my love to the Parsons girls and everyone who loved and cared for Al. Rest in peace Papa. Now you can soar with eagles, Esther Mae and Ken. Much love xo
Al was like a dad. He always left me feeling welcome and cared for. I will always cherish his presence in my life. Warmth and care for all his family and friends. Rest in peace.
