January 25th, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jaan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, uncle, brother in-law and friend.
Jaan suffered a long battle with Parkinson’s but lost his life to a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He passed away peacefully at Langley Hospice.
Jaan was born in Sweden and immigrated to Canada in 1949. He was raised in Kitsilano and later moved to the Fraser Valley where he married and raised his family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Patty; daughter Kim (Scott); son Harvey; daughter Breanna; granddaughter Zayne; grandson Zeth; and grand-dog Koby. He is predeceased by his father Friedrich and mother Johanna.
Jaan had a passion for classic cars, hockey, and enjoyed his years playing baseball as a ‘Hoser’. His family is blessed to have many memories and will continue to live by Jaan’s words “you can’t put a price on fun”.
A celebration of his life will be held on March 4, 2023 at Fernridge Hall in Langley. We welcome you to attend at 1pm and there will be a short ceremony to commence at 1:30ish.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Langley Hospice Society.
