Phillip Carter Reynolds

February 21st, 2023

Phillip Reynolds died unexpectedly in Vancouver, B.C. February 21, 2023 at 73 years old.  He leaves behind sister Linda (John) Davidson and brother Stephen (Julie) Reynolds as well as nieces Emily, Stephanie and Jennifer, nephews Nicholas and Matthew, and five grand nieces and nephews.  Phil was pre-deceased by his parents Verva Carter and Arthur Reynolds and sister Martha.

Born in London, Ontario Phil spent most of his youth in St. Thomas, Ontario before moving to North Bay and then settling in Toronto.  Phillip worked at many different jobs throughout his life and participated with his siblings in his father’s printing business.  He moved to Vancouver in the early 1990’s and worked and volunteered for many years at the Dugout in the Downtown Eastside.

Phillip was a very social person who could tell great stories.  He loved fishing, hanging out with his friends in the bar, and rooting for his favourite sports teams on TV.  He was active on the internet and had a profile on Facebook where he communicated with family and friends.

Phil’s life was not always easy or predictable.  Throughout, however, he maintained a positive outlook and guided his life the way he wanted.  His remains have been cremated and a private family memorial will take place on date yet to be determined.

Phillip, like his mother and sister Martha, was a great lover of cats!  Those wishing to make a donation in Phil’s honour should do so to the SPCA in your locale.

Messages:

Cousin Phil was one of the most charismatic people I’ve met. I wish I could have spent more time with him but distance wouldn’t allow it.

We had many great times together growing up as children. I reconnected with Phillip again through Facebook and had chats on iMessage with him. Phillip was always happy and smiling. RIP Phillip

I knew Phil as a young man although I have not seen him for about 15 years. He was a great guy always kidding and laughing. He will be missed.

We will remember Philip for his cheerful demeanour.
