Borchardt, Michael Frederick
September 14, 1966 - March 5, 2022
It is with deep sadness that the family of Michael Frederick Borchardt announce his passing in the early hours of Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Surrey, BC.
Michael is survived by his parents, Horst and Sigrid Borchardt, his sister, Barbara Borchardt, and son Jacob Kelly-Borchardt and his daughter, Emily Kelly-Borchardt.
Michael was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on September 14, 1966. He was the youngest of two children and was raised in East Vancouver, BC. The family moved to Burnaby as his sister started high school in 1978. It was here that Michael’s fascination with cars and trucks began, and he bought his first vehicle, a Ford Mustang.
In 2005, Michael met and married Lisa Kelly. Michael enjoyed camping, spending time with his children and gathering with his many friends over the years. Michael was a family man. Whether it was being a good father to his 2 children, or in more recent years assisting with the care of his elderly parents. Michael was passionate about family and cared deeply for those he loved.
Michael worked at Bulldog Bag for 34 years and was a hard worker. It was there that he made some lifelong friends and connections which he spoke fondly of.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the BC Cancer Agency or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Messages:
Hi, There are no words to describe such a loss. I lost my oldest son 3 years ago and it is overwhelming the grief we, as parents, feel. Our children should never die before us. I loved talking to Mike , here at work, and was so shocked at the news. He was a kind and loving person that I will miss so much. Please know that my prayers are with you at this time of grief. Maureen Mitchell
