Anna Christina Beuk
November 25th, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Oma and Overgrootmoeder, Anna Christina Beuk (nee Van Frankfoort) on November 25, 2018 at the age of 90.
Anna is predeceased by her loving husband Wilhelmus (Bill), Brother Pete, Sister Rina and Grandson Brendon. She is survived by her brother Cees and sister’s Lenie and Corry. Also survived by her seven children, Nico (Susan), Hans (Debbie), Wim (Gloria), Marianne (Vic), Gary (Kerri), Leona (Grant) and Cynthia (Graham), 23 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Born in Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands in 1927. She was the third oldest in the family. She spent her teen years in German occupied Holland. She married Bill on February 11, 1953. They immigrated to Canada by ship on the Groete Beer in 1957, with their three sons in tow. Spent their early years in Vancouver where four more children were born. She was very involved with the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and School. Moved to Coquitlam in 1968 where she was very active with All Saint’s Parish and the Catholic Woman’s league. When Bill retired they moved to Surrey and remained in Surrey until her passing.
Anna was a devoted mother and oma. She was a stay at home mother who took great pride in caring and raising her family. In 1968 Bill finally bought her a cabin on the lake which was one of the promises he made to her when she agreed to move to Canada. For over 50 years Anna and family have enjoyed the cabin at Hatzic Lake.
They purchased a motor home and became snowbirds for several years. They also enjoyed many travels to various countries around the world but always made time to travel back to their home towns to visit their family in the Netherlands.
She loved children so the saddest thing that happened to her was the onset of Alzheimer’s in her later years which deprived her of enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She always had a positive outlook on life, was always happy and had a wonderful sense of humor. We will miss you Mom.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC would be appreciated.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
