- Dignified Handling: After cremation, your loved one’s ashes are placed in a biodegradable bag and temporarily stored in a separate cardboard urn. Until the time of the annual scattering, they are securely and respectfully kept on-site at our funeral home.
- Guided Ceremony: On the day of the scattering, our team of professional funeral directors boards the boat and oversees each aspect of the ceremony with care and reverence. At the beginning of the event, a poem is read aloud to set a thoughtful and reflective tone.
- Personal Tribute: Each individual’s name is read out as their ashes are gently placed into the ocean by a member of our team, ensuring a personal moment of remembrance. After all scatterings are complete, the boat returns quietly to the dock.
- Commemorative Certificate: Following the ceremony, families are contacted and mailed a personalized certificate. This keepsake includes the date and approximate GPS coordinates of the scattering site, offering a meaningful record of the event.
