Edward "Ted" Flood

FLOOD, Edward (Ted) Donald

Edward Donald (Ted) Flood passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 65 years. Ted is survived by his wife, Hazel Flood; his son, Neil Flood (wife Carolyn; sons, Reese, Aidan, and Evan); his daughter, Lee Gauthier (husband, Ian and daughter, Paige); his brother, Jim Flood; his sister, Mona Deschamps; his stepsons, David and Steven DiStefano; and his stepdaughter, Tina-Marie Yenna (husband, Chris and son, Colston). Ted was born in Moose Jaw, SK but grew up and lived most of this life in Winnipeg, MB where he was a proud graduate of St. Paul’s High School (class of 1969). He spent the past ten years living in the Calgary area. No matter where he lived or travelled, he was always most at home at the helm of a sailboat surrounded by friends and family, usually on his beloved Lake of the Woods. He will be missed by close friends and family in all these places.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, AB & NWT Division, #200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5.

Ted is someone special I remember from my younger days - early years of marriage and young children. A larger than life fellow, always smiling with a twinkle in his eye and usually a very long story to recall. Ted loved life and was always ready to lend a hand. I have very fond memories of camping and just hanging out...He and Linda brought two very special people into the world in Neil and Lee. Hazel - we have never met but I am grateful you were there for Ted during this difficult period. Healing to all who are hurting at this very sad time. Remembering Ted with love, xox/bjs ~ Barbara Ade

Hazel and all of Ted's family, our condolences on your loss. We'll miss Ted's fervent optimism and willingness to help all his friends. I will keep great memories of Ted from St. Paul's, playing football with him ( with his same enthusiasm), getting into a bit of trouble, and always glad to see him. A man for others. ~ Dawn and Charles Sherbo
