Duane Philip LaMarsh

Duane passed away
peacefully Friday, December 23, 2011 at the age of 86 in the Olds Hospital and
Care Center.
Duane was born in Sandpoint, Idaho to Canadian
parents, Hume and Rachel LaMarsh. The family moved back to Alberta in July 1925
and lived at Alliance, Alberta until 1935 when they moved to the farm west of
Olds in the Murray Valley, north of the Hainstock School. Duane attended school
in Alliance, Berrydale, Hainstock, and finished up in Olds.
Duane is survived
by his loving wife, Edith, of 49 years; his daughter Michele (Steve) Hoffman of
Olds; son Wayne (Charity) of Ft. St. John, BC.; 7 grandsons Lee, Kyle, Ben,
Derick, Darby, Stirling, and Ronald James; 2 sisters Ann Boothe of Ontario,
Ialeen (Bob) Colwell of Calgary; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is
also survived by Edith’s brothers, Bruce (Rose) Davis of Bear Lake, BC and Dan
(Chantel) Moore of Ft. St. John, BC. He was predeceased by his parents, Hume
and Rachel; his daughter Sandra; his son Ronald and his brother-in-law, Don Boothe.
The family would like to
thank, Dr. Martha Ingles, Dr. Kimberly Dykin, the staff at the Olds Hospital
and Care Center and the staff at Sunrise Village for the wonderful and
compassionate care he received while he was in these facilities.
The Funeral
Service is to be held at the Olds United Church, 4810 – 50 Street, Olds,
Alberta on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may
be made to the Olds Hospital Memorial Fund, 3901 – 57 Avenue, Olds,
Alberta T4H 1T4 or a charity of their
choice.
