Melvin was born and raised in St. Clements, Manitoba. He became interested in
carpentry at age 15 years old, which inevitably became his career of choice.
Melvin met and fell in love with Margaret Angel and went on to have nine
children together. In 1969, the family moved to Red Deer, Alberta to start a new
life. As well as carpentry, Melvin also tried his hand at other
occupations...gold mines, coal mines, working on the Trans Canada Hwy, and
fishing boats. But he always saved time for fishing, hunting, trapping,
woodworking and a little dancing now and then.
He loved the sound of fiddles and spoons.
A Memorial Service will be
held at the First Christian Reform Church, 16 McVicar Street, Red Deer, AB on
Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2pm.
Messages of condolence may be left for the
family.
