It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Ross Edward Mellick of Mirror, AB on Friday, August 8, 2014 from cancer at the age of 78 years. Ross spent most of his working career in Seismic throughout Canada, USA and Africa. He was also an avid metal detector. Ross was predeceased by his infant sister, Ruth; father, Duncan Clyde Mellick; mother, Eva Marie; son, Michael Mellick; and wife, Leanna.
Ross leaves to mourn his sisters, Jackie (Don) Ball of Lacombe, Jean (Don) Hunter of Red Deer; brother, Ted (Fran) Mellick of Red Deer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. At the request of the deceased there will be a Private Family Interment in Tees, AB. Messages of condolence may be left for the family atMessages:
Dear Jackie & Family: So sorry to hear that Ross has passed on. It was just recently that you and I talked and you were saying he wasn't well. Even though years have gone by without contact with Ross or any of the Mellick family, I just would like to say my thoughts are with you at this time. I did envy his comic book collection. Glad to know you remembered your Tees roots. Rest in peace. Jack

Our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Ross. I remember him so well as a kid growing up in Tees and how he and Dennis Lea would wrestle with Ted and I ,hold us down and put grass in our face. I remember him playing the piano at Dunc and Evas Lots of good memories of Ross. To brother Ted,Sisters Jackie and Jean and their families we are so sorry.Eva was my moms best friend and countless hours were spent at the Mellicks.Ted was and to this day is still my very good friend.
