Jerry passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 surrounded by the love of his close-knit family, the ones he so dearly loved and made him so very, very proud. Along with his family, he leaves to mourn many good friends who are going to miss Jerry’s hugs. Jerry is also survived by a sister, Audrey; and brothers, Mansel (Anita) and Noel (Della), and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Alice; sisters, Velma and Norma; and son-in-law, Sheldon. As per Jerry’s wishes, there will be no Funeral, but there will be a Come and Go Tea to celebrate his life at The Radisson Hotel, 6500 -67 Street, Red Deer, AB (east of Deermart) on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Memorial donations can be made in Jerry’s memory to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnott Avenue, Red Deer, AB, T4R 3S6, or as Jerry suggested, “Take a friend to dinner.” Many thanks to the staff at the Red Deer Hospice for their excellent care and support. We will miss you so much, Dad, “You are the wind beneath our wings.”

Shirley and family...I am so sorry to hear of Jerrys' passing. I often think of those days on the farm...the work and the laughs. Jerry taught me a lot...how to clear a fence running while he laughed with burdeezers in his hand..how he taught me to catch a snipe..never did explain you needed a special kind of rock..how fast you could run from a haunted house in the middle of the night...how, at the end of a hard day there was always time for a laugh and a game of cards. A truly wonderful man who touched everyone in his own special way. He will always be remembered with love and a heart felt smile. My sympathy and love to you all.
I'm so sorry to hear about Jerry. I've often thought of him over the years and in fact, was just thinking of him the other day. I was saddened to hear of his passing. I worked with Jerry at Michener from 1981 to 1982. He was an awesome guy to work for - one of the best bosses I've ever had. He had the greatest sense of humour and the best mischievous grin. Work was always a pleasure and has always been some of the best times of my life. Not only did the staff love him but so did the clients. My sincere sympathy goes to your family. Wish I could pay my respects at the tea but I have a wedding. My thoughts will be with you. Lori Kupsch
Dear Shirley - My sincere sympathy and prayers and love to you and your family. I am sorry I cannot see you on Sat. - my daughter Connie is getting married at 2:00 that same day. Hopefully Jean and I can meet you for coffee one day soon. Hugs Marian Sage
So sorry to learn of this loss, and so so late. I had a vivid dream (seemingly out of nowhere) in which Jerry, and Tal, were central. One of our community baseball games. Jerry was coaching Tal's team. Tal's friend, but I was playing for the other guys, Clearview. Jerry's eyes, and mischievous smile, and his class act and his competitiveness, as I tried to steal a base under his watchful gaze... (I think Tal, a chip off the old block in terms of looks and class, might have thrown me out). Warm love and greetings, Ken Mills
