Alma Mary Reinheimer

REINHEIMER, Alma
Alma Reinheimer passed away at the Dulcina Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. She walked peacefully into the arms of Jesus and joined her husband Wayne in heaven on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the age of 72 years.
Alma was born on July 14, 1943 to Isaac and Mary Hildebrandt. She was raised on a farm in Blumenhof, Saskatchewan along with her four older brothers. She was blessed to be brought up in a faithful Christian family. She came to know the Lord as her Saviour as a child through her elementary school teacher.
Alma attended Briercrest Bible College for one year after high school. Having always had a heart for helping others, this led her to begin her nursing training in 1963 in Saskatoon and Melville, Saskatchewan. While in Melville, she met her future husband, Wayne and his wonderful family. Alma and Wayne married in 1968 and then relocated to Red Deer, Alberta. She thoroughly enjoyed working on the surgical unit at Red Deer Hospital until starting a family. She raised two daughters and returned to work as a unit secretary at the hospital until her retirement in 2013. She always felt so privileged to work alongside an amazing group of women who became special friends.
Alma always demonstrated a deep devotion to the Lord and her family. Her faith remained strong and steadfast through many trials in her life. This was especially evident when supporting her husband, Wayne and their daughters during his illness and passing in 1988. She also embraced the joys in life with being active with her church family, volunteering with community organizations and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Alma enjoyed holidays with family, loved music and reading, and many special activities with her granddaughters. Her incredibly generous heart easily inspired an attitude of service in others around her. The most important value that she instilled in her family was to live for the Lord.
Alma’s life is celebrated by her daughter, Corilyn (Cam); granddaughters, Erykah, Renae and Caitlyn; daughter, Joy (Ulysses); brothers, Henry, John, (passed away August 2015) Jake and Pete (Anne); brothers-in-law, Raymond, Don, Vern (Karen), Delroy (Sylvia); sisters-in-law, Janice and Elaine (Dale); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is dearly treasured and will be deeply missed by her entire family and friends.
A Celebration of Alma’s life will be held at Bethany Baptist Church, 3901 - 44 Street, Red Deer, AB on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:30 pm

Carilyn, Joy and families: I was one of the team of Labor and Delivery staff at Red Deer Regional Hospital that worked with your Mom for many years. She was so quiet, diligent, kind and caring, always knew what needed to be done, and stuck with getting her work done and then helping others. She was a joy to have on our team, and to work with her. We were saddened by the pain she has had to bear with this final fight with cancer. I'm sure she was ready to be taken to join your Dad. My condolences to both of you and your families in your grief and loss. Marg Metcalf
