Almira Bernice Mann (nee Hoyme)

July 21st, 2016

MANN, Almira (nee Hoyme)

Almira leaves her family a 90-year legacy of faithfulness, loyalty, generosity and love. Born on October 07, 1925, she passed away peacefully with family at her side in the early morning of Thursday, July 21, 2016. Proud of her Norwegian and Lutheran heritage, she died the way she lived her life, stubborn and resilient to the end, insisting on doing things her way as she passed from this world.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Linda, Bev, Leonard and Karen; her sons-in-law; brothers, Arnold, Clifford and Melford; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 2008.

A Memorial Service for Almira will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 40 Holmes Street, Red Deer, AB on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 11:00 am.

Messages:

Our deepest sympathy to your family. She must have been a special woman to have raised such a good family who thought the world of her.

We really enjoyed our visits with Aunt Almira when she came to Ottawa. I remember when I was little and visiting her and Uncle Jim. We were invited for r4x9rmdinner and she even had little name tags at each place setting. I thought "wow, we must be really special people to have name tags at each place setting." I never forgot it. She loved to sew and when she came to visit she brought her four great great nieces beautiful blankets that she had made for them. She was a very thoughtful person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. R.I.P. Aunt Almira. Permelia (Hotme) and Wyck Bradley

Linda, Bev, Karen & family - so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. We hope you have many happy memories to get you through this difficult time. You are in our thoughts!
