On the Road Again …. Robert Gordon Graham passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 85 years.
Gordon was born in on October 4, 1931 in Lacombe, Alberta to Robert & Maude Graham and was the 4th child born of 5, he was the only boy. He moved to the Okanagan in 1945, where he finished his schooling. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Orma Sutcliffe. They had 5 children together.
In their early years of marriage, Gordon and Orma lived in many different communities throughout northern British Columbia and Alberta, until they choose to settle down in Lacombe.
Gordon was an Entrepreneur at heart, he owned many businesses, which included 12 years of farming. Gordon provided a wonderful life for his family. He was an excellent husband and an exceptional role model for his children.
Gordon was a man of great faith, love for his family, as well a story was always shared. Gordon was also known for his very happy positive outlook on life. He could always seem to find the solution to any situation he found himself in. He had a lot of interests over the years, his most cherished were, skiing, motorcycles, and sailing.
Gordon and Orma enjoyed a very full life together, sharing many special memories with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 63 years, Orma; children, Judi (Bill) Flaws, Dorothy Graham (Dan), Gay Graham (Martin) and Kelly (Della) Graham; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Mabel Liam, Iris Davidson, Dorothy (Dave) Rowlett; in-laws, Carol (Eric) Greenich and Bob Bigham; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Mark Graham and his grandson, Graham Flaws. Gordon will be dearly missed by all that had the opportunity to call him a friend.
A Memorial Celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, 5214 – 50 Avenue, Lacombe, AB on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 2 :00 pm.
