VALSTAR, Peter
April 2, 1942 – May 1, 2017

Peter Valstar was born April 2, 1942 in Rotterdam Holland.   Peter along with his family immigrated to Canada in 1949, where they eventually settled in the Buster Creek area. He met & married Suzanne Hogan and they then had 4 children, Marie (Kelly) Loomer, Rick (Janice) Valstar, Randy (Peggy) Valstar, David (Brandy) Valstar. Peter worked the rigs & then went into oil production; a job where he was home every night. Peter also enjoyed farming and that became his fulltime occupation. Peter enjoyed a full & happy life.  We took holidays to visit family & friends in the summer. Dad enjoyed playing cards and games at which he was really lucky. Peter was also a man that enjoyed helping whoever needed a hand. He has been blessed with 9 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.

Peter really enjoyed having a big garden of which he often shared the bounty with family & friends. Peter loved being outside putzing around the farm. He also loved all his John Deere tractors, farm equipment, and all 5 combines he bought for Suzanne. Peter was still known to break horses.

Peter loved being around his children & grandchildren. We enjoyed lots of family dinners, picnics & just hanging out with each other.  There has never been anything more important to him than his family.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife and children, as well as grandchildren, Riley, Dustin, Ashley, Cody, Jessica, Sean, Josh, Chloe and Julianna; great grandchildren, Blake and Sirenna; brothers, Gus (Marg) Valstar, Arie (Annette) Valstar, Dirk (Sandy) Valstar; sisters, Lien (Hank) Vandermeulen, Nell DeRuyter, Nellie (Bob) Clary, Audrey (Dennis) Ladd and Anne Terpsma; brothers-in-law, Clarence (Nicole) Hogan, Bob Kilkus and Bill (Leah) Long and many nieces and nephews.
