He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Dyck, of 64 years, his son, Harold (Donna) Dyck, daughters, Linda (Ray) Arendt, Eileen (Dan) Johnson, Julia (Sam) Unruh, plus 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Anne (Abe) Hiebert, Henry (Phyllis) Dyck, and Helena (Ron) Swanson, his step-mother, Virginia Dyck, and three step-brothers, Richard, Erwin, and Gilbert Reimer.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, one sister, Gertrude Dyck, and twin grandsons, Andrew and Mark Unruh.
Ernest’s faith played a very important part in his life. He was always involved in the church in various ways, from ushering to singing in the choirs. He also had a keen interest and was involved in some historical villages, political parties, music events, and other committees.
Ernest made a living running several businesses including farming, grocery stores, and gas stations. He owned the Turbo gas station just west of Swift Current for most of his working career.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
