Patrick Douglas Murray

May 20, 1956 – July 9, 2019

Pat passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on July 9, 2019 at the age of 63. He is lovingly remembered by Diana, his wife of 42 years, their daughters, Danielle (Randy) and Amy along with his grandchildren, Jake, Kylie, Matthew, Jayda and Alexis.

Pat was born to parents Margaret (Dodd) and Douglas Murray on May 20th, 1956 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. He was the eldest of five, Michael (Sandra), Brenda, Barbara and Janet (Daryl). He is predeceased by his parents as well as his sisters Brenda and Barbara.

Raised in Red Deer, he graduated from Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School and went on to receive his Red Seal Journeyman Certifications for Auto Mechanics from NAIT and Welding from Red Deer College. In December of 1976 he married Diana, the love of his life and went on to have two daughters, Danielle and Amy. Pat also had many pets over the years and had a special love of his German Shepherds.

Hunting and camping were two of his favorite things to do. As his birthday fell close to, or sometimes on the May long weekend, he would always look forward to his cherry cheesecake out West.

Pat touched many people in his life and loved a good joke (some not so good) and making people laugh was his joy. Many have said that “it was impossible to be in a bad mood when Patty was around”. He was always there to help when anyone needed a vehicle repair done…but always encouraged his girls to make sure to purchase vehicles with warranty.

He will be deeply missed by his entire family and many friends...our hearts are broken, and we will miss him forever.

A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held on July 26, 2019 at 12:00pm at the Deer Park Alliance Church, 2960 - 39 Street, Red Deer.

“That man is a success –

who has lived well,

laughed often and loved much;

who has gained the respect of intelligent men

and the love of children;

who has filled his niche

and accomplished his task;

who leaves the world better

than he found it;

who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty

or failed to express it.;

who looked for the best in others

and gave the best he had.”
