Dianne Joyce Gessleman

September 4th, 2020

Dianne Joyce Gessleman of Lacombe, AB passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the age of 71 years. Dianne was born in Rose Valley, SK on December 18, 1948 to Matthew and Margaret Currie.

Dianne is lovingly remembered by her children, Loreen (Roger) of Warman, SK, David (Stephanie) of Red Deer, AB, and Angela (Rick) of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren,  Katarinya (Bailey) of Edmonton, AB, Peytra (Jayden) of Millet, AB and, Justus and Analiese of Warman, SK. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret of Stettler, AB; sister, Esther of Stettler, AB; brother, Ernest of Clive, AB,; and sister, Beryl of Stettler, AB. Dianne was predeceased by her husband, Wendell.

Wendell and Dianne married in 1967 and resided on a farm in the Lacombe area until 2006 when they moved to an acreage east of Lacombe. Dianne loved spending time outside gardening, tending to the yard and using her power tools (especially her chain saw). She also looked forward to spending time in Kananaskis each summer with friends and family. One of her favorite hikes was Ptarmigan Cirque, and she was sure to be found on that trail each year. Dianne also adored spending time with family and friends, and could often be found hosting visitors from near and far. She also kept herself busy sewing and crocheting blankets for friends and family.

Dianne was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on August 12, 2020. To her friends and family, her passing seemed sudden. However, we can take comfort in Psalm 139:16 that says, “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”  Dianne will be dearly missed by friends and family.
