He served as Bishop until he resigned and retired in 2013.

He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred (2005) and Ellen (2014)
A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
I spend my days in weak faith, praying constantly for signs and testaments of your presence, power, even existence. And then when you give me and answer - a profound understanding of your love, a wrenching renewal of the heart, a coming of the Spirit in power - I find myself the next day equally unsatisfied, haunted, doubting. It is enough; now, Lord Show me something better. "It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my ancestors.". - I Kings 19
You walked this path to the mountain of God more faithfully than I ever have or ever will, Jesus. Just like Moses and Elijah you fasted for forty days and nights sustained on the word of God. I'm not able to do that. And when, after all of your tender ministration, I stand in front of the presence of God and prepare to complain that I am alone, I trust you to speak a better word, to proclaim that in you I have been made perfect through sufferings even as with you I am being made perfect through sufferings. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, no matter how selective my memory or how stubborn my unbelief, the fact that you are not ashamed to call me brother is joy enough. It is enough now, O Lord. So once more I am ready to walk towards that Day with the joy of the Lord in my heart. In the name of Jesus Christ . Amen.

We met Ron at the smoke shack at Bethany collegeside as Robert is in young adults with MS. We looked forward to our meetings such a very caring and positive person
I was so sorry to learn of Pastor Ron's passing. He baptized both my children at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lethbridge in 1981 and 1983. My Dad who was on church council in those days, thought very highly of Pastor Ron. I wasn't living in Lethbridge at that time so sadly I never saw Pastor Ron after 1983. I know he touched many lives and will be missed very much. Prayers for Pastor Ron's family.
Ron , my friend...the articulate Christ truster... for what elsè is there.? ..
Very sorry to hear of your loss, Jeremy and Josh. Sending you wishes for solace and comfort through your most cherished memories of your father. Be well.
Ron Mayan was uncle to myself and my three brothers and as a step uncle to my older brother and sister. A wonderful man, supportive, kind and in every way, like my own dad, the type of humble and amazing father I aspire to be. Unfortunately my children will not be able to know Uncle Ron personally, as I have, however they will know of him, and learn of the great man he was, and continues to be beyond. A loss for our family, but a gain above. God Bless, Uncle Ron, and thank you. - Matthew, Dorrien, Henry and Blair
Ron was one of the kindest and wisest people I have ever met. I am forever grateful that I attended CLBI and got to know him. My deepest condolences to Ron's family. He will be greatly missed by so many.
My deepest sympathies are extended to Ron’s sons, his companion Janet and to my dear friend and Ron’s sister Marla. I will always remember Ron with fondness.
